Saturday’s action at Fairwood Lane started at 1.00pm with Bontlands Youth taking on visitors Nantyffyllon. What a game it was with the spoils level on the final whistle at 15 all.
Then at 2.30pm it was the turn of the 1st XV, we thought it was going to be a cracking game and didn’t disappoint. Both the 1st XV and Aberavon Green Stars entertained the large crowd of supporters with a tough physical encounter with a lot of bruised and battered bodies on both sides at the final whistle.
The full-time score was 28 points to 12 in favour of our boys in green & white. Tries came from scrum half Rhyd Luckwell, prop Rhys Williams and hooker Mike Evans. The rest of the points came from Mr Reliable himself Pete Anson with two conversions and three penalties. A big thank you to our staff and club volunteers who answered the call and turned up to support on Saturday in what was an extremely busy day, you were outstanding.
Tomorrow it’s the turn of our Under 13’s who are playing in their final against Gowerton. It’s a 6.45pm kick-off and is at the neutral ground of Birchgrove. Come along and support the future senior players of the club.
