Weather finishes game at half time

The 1st XV welcomed Bryncoch RFC to Fairwood Lane on Saturday electing to play into the strong wind in the first half.  Unfortunately as the game progressed the weather worsened with icey rain & strong gusting winds. All players made their way to the changing rooms at half time with the Uplands leading by 5 points to 3 with a try by none other than Gareth Andrew.  As the weather contunued to worsen the conditions were deemed unplayable and both teams retired to the bar to enjoy the Christmas Jumper Social.  A big thank you to Bryncoch for staying and joining in the festivities we look forward to welcoming you back for the rearranged fixture.  The ND John man of the half match chosen by an independant assessor was Ieuan Rosser who started the game at blindside and finished at scrum half.

That was the last game before Christmas.  League action returns when we make the short journey to Penlan on Saturday 29th December.  There is however the Odds and Sods run out on Boxing Day kick off around midday when the bar will be open for all who wish to partake in some light refreshments. In the meantime a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year from us all at Swansea Uplands RFC.
