Well, what a weekend!
Before kick-off we knew only a home win against Pyle for us and a loss for Heol y Cyw against Aberavon Quins would see us gain promotion to Division One.
The boys did their job with a 45-5 win over the visitors who to their credit kept fighting to the final whistle and were rewarded scoring the last try of the game. Tries of which there were seven were scored by Peter Anson, Alex Margetts, Richard Evans, Alex Wadling, Tom Crowley, Rhydian Luckwell, & Ben Ghose. Pete also added five conversions.
Then the tension and uncertainty began with rumours that Quins had beaten Heol y Cyw. On what seemed an eternity eventually the result was confirmed with a 21-17 win for the Quins. Fairwood Lane erupted, and the celebrations began.
The ND John Man of the Match was chosen and on his 200th appearance and after a fantastic performance was awarded to Dan Stephens.
We must thank Freya who has followed the Green Machine this year and taken photos of all the action. The images can be viewed on her Facebook page Freya Daisy Photography, fabulous effort. Thank you Freya.
We aren't finished yet there's the little matter of the West Wales Bowl Final next Saturday where the 1st XV face Vardre who are also promoted as Champions of Division 2. The game is at Loughor RFC with a 2.30pm kick off. Come and support the boys in their attempt to gain some silverware to round off a great season.
